Here We Go Again
16th February 2025 and Mrs P and I are off for a bit of a ski tour in Norway. 6 weeks and around 400 miles.

I’m writing this on the bus back to Oslo. It is snowing quite heavily as we drive south past both frozen and not so frozen lakes…
Slip sliding away
A low of -19°C with winds of around 40 kmph gave a windchill of around -30°C.
But that’s okay. We ain’t here to go windsurfing.

Back in the Uk for nearly 3 weeks I have been interviewed on BBC local radio 3 times, updated the website, begun the book and become an expert in the art of procrastination.
Day 58 - The Penultimate Day
Nordkapp is not on the mainland it is on an island called Magerøya.

I have my daily chat with the inimitable Mrs P. The counselling sessions have ended (she’s too expensive), so what to talk about?
No plan survives first contact with the enemy.
I don’t think either David or I gave much thought as to what we would do beyond telling Trond what happened.
Day 11 - Tjonndalen to the road
The theory is that we will ski the 7.5 km to the road, then strap our skis to our bags and walk 14 km to the nearest place north with a place to stay at Rysstad. This wasn’t to be the case.
Days 5 and 6 - Ljosland
Friday 7th January 2022. We were dropped at the side of the road at 8.30am. Much warmer today and snowing steadily, which it continued to do all day.
Day 2 - Vigeland to Marnardal
It had snowed in the night, then rained, then froze. The roads and pavements were like one big skating rink.
